Programming: two small-scale (maybe even human scale) public engagements at end of April and end of May. final culminating moment at the Hyde Park Art Center, mid June. All dates TBD.
General Qs: How can collaboration hold across distance? Can we create a collaboratively made syllabus and prioritize horizontal knowledge production, so everyone at the table is both teacher and student? Is this syllabus person/site-specific or can it be scaled/transformed for others? The program is a 6-month residency, where the above artists will consider the above questions through the machinations of writing. Each month has a different leading Q, to be further complicated by the month’s weekly meeting:
Who are we and how do we read and write?
What is reading? What is writing?
What is recording? Coding? Encrypting?
What is translating?
What is holding? Can we hold across distance?
Final Q to be determined by artists, could be a culmination or continuation.
The final syllabus will be added at project’s end.
